Simultaneously charging ten e-trucks at full power will blow your main fuse—or demand a grid upgrade that isn't coming. Smart charging solves capacity limits with intelligent software rather than expensive copper.
The math on a charging plaza looks simple: number of charging points times power. Calculate like that and you always end up needing a heavier connection — and on a full grid, that means: no electrification. But the math is wrong. Vehicles do not have to charge simultaneously or at full power; they have to be full at the moment they leave.
From power to planning
Smart charging flips the question: not 'how much power do I need' but 'when does which vehicle need to be full'. Departure times lead. Within that limit, the system distributes the available power across the charging points in real time, shifts charging to the cheapest hours and keeps the total peak below your connection capacity.
With a battery or a solar roof next to the charging plaza, the game gets richer: buffer solar power during the day, charge the fleet at night, and cancel the peaks of both worlds out against each other.

- Charging infrastructure that can be controlled through open protocols — brand does not matter.
- Departure times and required charge levels per vehicle — from your planning or TMS.
- A system that forecasts and controls: consumption, generation and prices ahead, power distributed live.
The order that works
Do not electrify on gut feeling, and do not buy a connection sized for growth you might have. First have it modeled how many vehicles fit on your current connection — with smart charging, that is almost always more than you think. You can still expand later, numbers in hand.
